Visit counters can be found on almost any site, and if they are not visible visually, then this does not mean at all that they are not there. A real web master and optimizer must know how many people visit his resource, what requests they go to, etc. Some even put the counters in a prominent place to show off to other users (webmasters). In this article, you will learn how to add a hit counter to your site, as well as how to choose a counter.
1. Who needs a counter on the site and why
An ordinary user, far from creating sites, has no idea what is considered to be a lot of traffic and what is considered a little. So there is no point in bragging about such users with attendance. Therefore, we must clearly understand that the counter is necessary primarily for the webmaster. And he is needed in order to track the total traffic, as well as follow detailed statistics: what material on the site is most interesting, what is the average time spent on the site, what search queries attracted users, etc.
How to insert a Yandex Metric counter in a blogger
So how do you insert the Yandex.Metrica counter? Just two steps away!
We go to Yandex Metric (at http://metrika.yandex.ru)
In the column "title" write the name of the blog (I have "It's interesting!")
In the column "Site Address" put the blog URL (I have http://ta-vi-ka.blogspot.com)
In the column "Mirrors" indicate additional addresses (the blogger has national domains). I put those with which I have traffic.
All pictures are clickable:
Next, click on the "Counter Code" tab. Be sure to check the box "Informer" (to put the counter button on the blog). After that, it becomes possible to select the design of the counter button ("Configure informer"). And a checkmark on "Webvisor" (Recording and analysis of the behavior of site visitors).
We go to the tab "Filters" and put a check mark in front of "Do not consider my visits."
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page.
Now copy the resulting code.
Go to the editing panel in the Blogger. And paste this code as a simple gadget through HTML / Java Script. I put it in the sidebar
2. Which meter to choose
First you need to decide which counter to install on your site. I must say right away that the choice of really worthwhile free counters is not great. I would definitely recommend putting a liveinternet.ru counter on the site. This counter has great statistical abilities. For example, it allows you to track search queries (more precisely, it allowed, because now the transitions from the PS began to be hashed), entry / exit points, the number of page views, transitions from sites, from search engines, etc.
Top100.rambler.ru and metrika.yandex.ru are also good counters. As a result, I suggest putting four counters on the site:
You can also install Google Analitics (but I usually don’t install it).
Now I’ll talk about the main thing: how to install a counter on the site.
3.1. Counter from liveinternet.ru
Form for adding a site to the system: http://www.liveinternet.ru/add.
I think that explaining how to fill out the form when adding a site is not worth it, since everything is obvious here. The only thing I want to say: in the last paragraph "participation in the ratings" do not forget to select a category (unless, of course, you plan to participate in the overall rating). Then you will be taken to a page where you will be asked to verify the correctness of the entered data. If everything is correct, then click on the register button.
Once on the next page, click on "get the html code of the counter." You will be taken to the counter selection page:
I love the second type of counters, which show the number of views in 24 hours, the number of visitors in 24 hours and the number of visitors today. After choosing a counter, click on it and you will be taken to the color selection page.
After that, at the bottom of the page you need to select the type of counter.
I always choose the very first item: "as one picture" (it is by default). Next, at the very bottom of the page there will be a button "get the html-code of the counter", click on it and a new page with the code will open in front of you.
The LiveInternet counter code looks something like this:
The received code must be inserted in the place of your html page where you want the counter to be. I advise you to put it at the very bottom of the page so as not to slow down the loading of the page.
I also advise you to close the counters in the tag, and add the attribute rel = "nofollow" to the tag a so as not to transmit the reference weight.
3.2. Counter from top100.rambler.ru
First you need to register in rambler: https://id.rambler.ru/account/external-registration. After that, log in and go to the "add site" page.
Follow the instructions below. In general, the meaning is approximately the same as in the first case. Here you will have to fill in a little more fields than the live internet. At the very end, you will be asked to select the type of counter:
After that, you get the counter code and, just as in the first case, paste it in the place on the site where you want it to be displayed.
The code will look something like this:
Rambler became very moody to the moderation of resources. Only white sites are accepted here. If the site is gray, then it will be rejected.
3.3. Counter from metrika.yandex.ru
To add a site to Yandex Metric, you must be logged in to Yandex. After that, go to the page http://metrika.yandex.ru/list/ and click "add counter" at the top.
After that, it will be necessary to fill in the appropriate fields and similarly place the code on the site. Usually I make the counter from the metric invisible on the site.
After you add counters to the site in a couple of days, you can already begin to analyze site statistics.
3.4. Counter from top.mail.ru
To add a site to TOP Mail you need to register at Mail.ru. After that, go to the page https://top.mail.ru/add and enter the data to add the site.
This counter has similar parameters for viewing a counter with LI. Those. almost the same points. In this regard, of course, Yandex Metric is much more interesting.
The counter from the email is good primarily because many users visit its rating. From this rating, there will be transitions to your site if it has a fairly high traffic.
4. How to make your visit counter look beautiful
As a bonus, I’ll talk about how to make the counter more beautiful. To do this, you will need to write the following code in your CSS stylesheet:
And in the place where you need to insert the counter codes, write the following:
After that, you will have counters as on this site, i.e. they are darkened, and when pointing become bright.
