Be sure to dust the work surface with flour during rolling, otherwise the dough will simply stick and you will scrape it off. With a rolling pin, we roll each piece of dough into a thin layer. With a knife, cut it into a rectangle (about 10x15 cm). The remainder of the dough is collected and stored in the refrigerator.

On the first layer of dough, lay out part of the peeled walnuts, which do not need to be crushed, just whole pieces.

Next we put the second layer of dough, but a different color.

So we roll the whole dough, laying each layer with nuts. The remainder of the dough (which we cut), also collect together and roll out. It turns out this kind of blank.

Now we need to condense it so that the layers seize and do not fall apart when cutting. By the way, I forgot to say: if you chop nuts too much, the layers will not stick together, so use whole pieces. We roll the workpiece with a rolling pin, but not much. We send it to the freezer for half an hour.

At this time, preheat the oven - 170 degrees. We cut the dough and nut blank with a sharp knife. It should turn out strips about 1.5 centimeters wide. I got 12 pieces.

We cover the baking sheet with parchment paper (for baking) and lay out the cookie blanks.

Bake shortbread cookies with nuts for about 15-20 minutes at 170 degrees.
